July 15, 2008 | Agfa HealthCare and Meridian Technique have signed an agreement to integrate Meridian's leading orthopaedic digital planning solution, OrthoView, into Agfa HealthCare's IMPAX for Orthopedics solution. Developed in conjunction with the orthopaedic community, OrthoView consists of 5 specialist modules: Joint Replacement, Fracture Management, Limb Deformity Correction, Pediatrics and Spine. Together, OrthoView and Agfa HealthCare's own embedded Measurement tools IMPAX provide a complete set of functions for the orthopedic department. OrthoView allows orthopedic surgeons to pre-operatively plan and template surgical procedures on-screen. As hospitals throughout the world start to phase out film X-rays and introduce digital images, surgeons want a system that will let them plan surgical procedures more quickly and easily. The solution will be provided by Agfa HealthCare as part of its IMPAX Orthopedic Suite offering.

Lourdes Hospital has chosen the A3Align Solution from Informatics Corporation of America to provide a comprehensive EHR and tools to deliver better care. A 389-bed hospital in Paducah, Kentucky, Lourdes is part of the Catholic Healthcare Partners network. In the initial phase of the agreement, ICA will aggregate patient information from existing clinical systems, including Meditech Magic, Chart Maxx, PICIS, MIDAS, OBIX, Allscripts, Ulrich, and Fuji. Subsequent phases are slated to extend the solution's functionality beyond aggregation.

CenTrak has strengthened its intellectual property portfolio with the addition of an important patent for dual Infrared/Radio Frequency (IR/RF) location technology. This dual technology approach allows 100% room-level and even bed-level location accuracy, capabilities not achievable with RF-only systems, like WiFi-based RTLS. CenTrak’s InTouchCare systems use monitors that are placed in various hospital areas (for example, patient rooms, hallways and treatment bays). Each monitor emits a unique IR signal that is received by the system’s tags, enabling InTouchCare to track each tag’s exact location over time.

Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania has selected Wellsoft Corporation’s Emergency Department Information System (EDIS). Together, the Emergency Departments at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience and Methodist Hospital Division of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital serve over 105,000 adult and pediatric patients per year. Wellsoft EDIS is highly scalable and can support the needs of Jefferson’s multi-location enterprise. In addition to standardizing care across the hospitals, the unique needs of Jefferson University Hospital’s Level 1 Trauma Center, Methodist Hospital’s Fast Track, and the organization’s residency program will be easily addressed. Features to be implemented include patient tracking, nursing and physician documentation, electronic orders and results, image capture, and risk management.

IGI’s certified HealthRules deployment engineers will provide a full range of services to HealthEdge clients including system installation, configuration, testing, training, data conversion and project management.

MEDHOST has been selected as a Microsoft Managed Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Partner. In late 2007, MEDHOST attained Gold Certified Partner Status in the Microsoft Partner Program after demonstrating expertise with Microsoft technologies and a proven ability to meet customer needs.
