Epocrates filed with the SEC for an IPO on Thursday. The company, which booked $66 million in revenue in 2007, has applied to list its shares on the NASDAQ under the ticker EPOC. Citi is set to be the lead underwriter on the deal. No terms were disclosed in the initial filing.
The Lucile Packard Medical Group will outsource its revenue cycle operations to McKesson. McKesson’s Revenue Management Solutions will handle all billing and collection operations for the more than 650 physicians associated with Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, an academic medical center on the Stanford University campus in Palo Alto, Calif.
RAM Technologies has released an enhancement to its HEALTHsuite claims management application. This release, Version 7.0.16, features advanced functionality to support the coordination of subrogation investigations. The Subrogation module will enable RAM clients to recover the cost of services and benefits provided to a member, from the person or entity legally responsible for an injury causing event, such as an auto accident. The addition of Subrogation services to HEALTHsuite increases the depth and breadth of this leading edge enterprise application.

7 Medical Systems has announced eight new contracts for the quarter ended March 31, 2008. In addition to new sites in Minnesota, the company introduces its on-demand picture archiving and communication system (PACS) and electronic medical record (EMR) solutions into the western states of California, Idaho and Montana. Three of the eight new customers have subscribed to the company’s 7p Patient-Relationship-on-Demand (PRM-on-Demand) Suite for EMR, including groups specializing in internal medicine, children’s respiratory and critical care, and ob-gyn. Four community/critical access hospitals have signed on for the 7i Imaging-on-Demand (PACS) Suite. Lastly, a software manufacturer has engaged 7 Medical as its back-end, on-demand computing provider.

e-MDs has announced the appointment of Mark Delp as CIO and senior vice president. Mark brings over 20 years of executive technical leadership to e-MDs from his experience at SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals, PNC Bank, Philadelphia Insurance and, most recently, as president of FM Labs.
